How to Find Business Records in New Hampshire State
How to Search for New Hampshire State Business Records
The New Hampshire Secretary of State�s business records search is a
comprehensive and easy to use resource for anyone who needs to look up
information on registered businesses in that state. There are 5 simple
steps to searching this database one of three different ways.
1. Start by going to the New Hampshire Secretary of State website at
https://www.sos.nh.gov.
2. Scroll down the left side menu until you get to the �Corporation
Division� section.
3. Select the first link under this section, labeled �Business Name
Lookup�. This will take you to a page where you have 3 search options.
These options are to search by business name, business ID, or registered
agent.
4a. Business Name: If you want to search by business name, you will
scroll down to the bottom of the current page and type in all or a
portion of the business name you are looking for. You will also need to
choose one of the following options: �Starts with�, �Sounds like�,
�Exact match�, or �All words�. The first two options will give you a
longer list to work with, which could be a good or bad thing depending
on how much time you want to devote to the list. Obviously if you are
looking for a name for your business, you are also going to want to see
if there are any businesses that not only have the same exact name or
wording, but also if there are any business names that sound like the
name you wish to have. Besides these options, you can also choose to
search only for active corporations. You will receive a list of business
who are registered in New Hampshire that match your search criteria.
Click on a business�s name or ID number to be taken to their page.
4b: Business ID: You can also search by business ID. To do this, choose
�By Business ID� from the left side menu (second link under �Search�).
All you need to do with this form is fill in the business ID. You should
be taken directly to the business�s page.
4c. Registered Agent: Lastly, you can search by the registered agent�s
name. To do this, choose �By Registered Agent� from the left side menu
(third link under �Search�). You can use this form to input the agent�s
first and/or last names. This will take you to a page which lists every
registered agent with that name and how many companies they are
currently representing. You are likely to receive more focused results
if you put in both a first and a last name. Once you find an agent, you
can click on his or her name to see a complete list of the companies
they represent. You can then click in a business�s name or ID number to
be taken to their page.
5. The business�s information page will give you the most important
public details about their registration information. This includes their
business name and business name type, business ID number, their status,
their creation date, the state they are doing business in, their
principal office address, their principal mailing address, their
registration expiration date, their last annual report, and when their
last annual report was filed, who their registered agent is, and their
registered agent�s office and mailing addresses.
This database is open to anyone, whether they live in New Hampshire,
California, or anywhere else in the world. There is no login or payment
information required to access this open resource. It can be useful to
anyone who wants to find out information on New Hampshire businesses,
New Hampshire registered agents, or available New Hampshire business
names.
