- Birth Records Hawaii
The State of Hawaiis Department of Health maintains birth records. You can order birth records if you are an authorized person directly from their website for births that occurred after July 1909. For births before July 1909, you can order these records by mail or in person.
You can either order a certified copy of your own birth certificate or that of an immediate family member because vital records in Hawaii are restricted by statute. When you order a copy on the Department of Healths website, be aware that you are ordering the copies online but the order will be processed offline and the certificates mailed to you within about four to six weeks.
Fees
The first certified copy costs $10 and is kept regardless if the record is found or not as a search fee. If you order over their website, you will incur and additional $1.50 electronic processing fee. Each additional copy ordered at the same time costs $4.00 plus an additional $.025 electronic processing fee for online orders. When ordering online, you will pay these fees in the form of a credit card payment at the time of the order.
Ordering Online
Go to the website located at https://www.ehawaii.gov/doh/vitrec/exe/vitrec.cgi and agree to the terms presented. Next, youll be taken to a form where you fill out the information on the registrant including name, date of birth, place of birth and parents names.
Finally, youll fill in your credit card information and mailing information.
